Set on a relatively small and restricted site in Co. Limerick, the brief provides for a four bedroom contemporary family home set out in two blocks. 

A single-storey ‘Living Block’ is located to the front of the site which is similar in form and appearance to a derelict stone cottage that originally occupied the site. This block contains the open-plan Kitchen/Dining/Living Spaces and is orientated to the south in order to benefit from good quality light throughout the day and to capture unrestricted views over the landscape.

The two-storey ‘Sleeping Block’ is located to the rear of the site for enhanced privacy and the two forms are linked via a simple flat-roofed element which helps to define the main entrance. It is designed to be contemporary in appearance yet have the vernacular in mind.
