H-House has been carefully designed to harness unrestricted views to the east and as well as the good quality, direct sunlight from the south. It is laid in two staggered blocks set on an east-west axis.

A single-storey, open-plan living block is located to the south of the site to capture the sunlight throughout the day but its primary views are directed to the east over the uninterrupted rural landscape.

A two-storey sleeping Block is located to the north and the two forms are linked via a simple pitched-roof element defining the main entrance.  The Living and Sleeping blocks are shifted in order to form a semi-enclosed, central private courtyard space to the rear. The blocks are also so orientated to utilise solar gain as a free heat source.
